Confirmed: The Witcher 3 — Songs of the Past
CD Projekt RED's official exhibitor page confirms that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Songs of the Past will appear during Opening Night Live. It describes the project as a full-fledged expansion and says the first showcase will be available at Gamescom from August 26.
CD Projekt RED has not used that listing to confirm a story setting, a release window, new combat systems, or platform details. Claims about Dol Blathanna, horseback archery, or an early-2027 launch should therefore be treated as unverified unless the studio announces them during or after the show.
Xbox's confirmed Gamescom plans
Xbox announced several playable experiences and presentations before Gamescom:
- Gears of War: E-Day will have its first public hands-on campaign demo. Xbox lists its release date as October 6, 2026.
- Minecraft Dungeons II will be publicly playable for the first time.
- Fable will have a live gameplay demonstration in a dedicated theater.
- Xbox will run official broadcasts on August 26 and 27 at 4:00 p.m. CEST on its YouTube and Twitch channels.
These are confirmed Gamescom plans, but they should not be described as Opening Night Live premieres unless they actually appear in that broadcast.

What not to treat as confirmed
Before the broadcast, there is no official basis for presenting rumored game titles, trailer slots, or detailed release windows as confirmed Gamescom announcements. Unsupported claims previously included here have been removed.
